Intensives

Lasting growth involves a commitment to address needed changes and continued practice of what was learned during the sessions.

Intensives

Investing one hour a week with a counselor is certainly helpful. For some, however, a more intensive approach might be beneficial. The “Intensive” session is designed to give you an experience of what it is like to have four months of therapy in a concentrated period of time. The length of time for an intensive may vary. An average intensive is 16-18 hours over three days, but can be customized depending on your situation and schedule. The goals of an intensive are to assess individual love styles and identify problematic core patterns created by the histories each partner brings into in their current relationship.

In a 16 -18 hour period, we will help a couple or individual gain insights about their love style, increase compassion and create new experiences of connection. The intensive concludes by outlining goals for future work and you leave with a written plan and recommendations. The time you invest in an intensive is not meant to be a “quick fix.” Rather, it is meant to be a catalyst or “jump start” to promote change. Lasting growth involves a commitment to address needed changes and continued practice of what was learned during the sessions.
